How My Journey Began
Kristine “Kim” Phansaithong was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and raised in Queens, New York. Her childhood was rich in her Filipino heritage. She’s married to her husband who serves in the Air Force and together they have 3 girls.
At the age of 20, Kim became a Registered Nurse in NYC specializing in Pediatrics and later a travel RN in her specialty.
Eventually, she became a Neurology/Telemetry RN in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2005.
Today, Kim is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She’s certified as a TRX coach with numerous certifications as well as an Autism Fitness Practitioner.
She suffered a massive stroke at 31 when stationed in MD and had extensive rehabilitation at John’s Hopkins for almost 5 years.
Because of her own trialing experience in intense rehabilitation, she refused to be another statistic. Her belief is seeing the greatness that lies within each and every ones abilities.
She trains the Neuro-diverse community and specializes in the armed forces. Her belief is building strength, endurance, and self-awareness to perform at your maximum best. She considers fitness to be a life journey rather than a quick fix. She provides 1:1, small and large group training, on-line and team building with meeting you at your baseline while providing continuous feedback and support. The focus is on you, the client, whether she coaches one or large groups.
She’s been active in spreading awareness for Stroke survivors and caregivers. Currently she’s in the midst of starting a Stroke Survivor fitness program with Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. She’s been featured in Hawaii News Now and has done bootcamp events for Athleta in Maryland.
Outside of fitness, Kim enjoys spending time with her family (which she states is her number 1 priority), singing, cooking, baking and crafting jewelry.
